I have a grant from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire to study lameness (particularly founder and navicular) in horses. I have Ph.D. in genetics and developmental biology and work on horse diseases/physiology.
I have previously published in the American Journal of Veterinary Research on an inherited disorder in Arabian horses. Was wondering if there were any horse-pullers within driving distance of Eau Claire, WI who would like to get together and pull.
Would require a Coggin's size amount of blood before pulling at all and after their last pull. and my driving range is pretty big! OR if you know any horse group with other "hard-exercising" breeds for instance cutting, reining, and so on.
Feel free to suggest them! mkk

Love my Spotted Draft (Belgian cross) WINSTON. He is He is five, 16.3 hands and the Love of all who meet him...He is very personable! I appreciated your EPSM articles by Dr. Valentine very much as he has some of the symptoms and I will correct his diet.
I have had Winston for a year and a half...Am using him for trail and will eventually teach him to jump a little, perhaps try "hunting". I use a treeless Sport Saddle on him and it is perfect...Just a plug for them...sportsaddle.com.

stallion to the NABC IV in Columbus, Ohio to be on Stallion Row. Any of you who had the opportunity to go to this show saw an awesome display of horses and showing. This truely was the hi-lite of our show season.
The next show will be in 4 years some where in Canada. They are talking maybe Toronto. Mark your calendars to attend. Please feel free to contact us about breeding anytime. Thanks!!

I recently found a website onwhich was listed a lot of books regarding walking plows, etc.One of the books dealt with how to refurbish them as well as the history of a number of makes, etc. I cannot find that specific site now and did not bookmark it.
Would much appreciate if someone knows the addy for the site if they could email me. Thanks.

I thought your readers might like to know where to find draft horse sized halter/bridle combinations. Visit:
http://www.mountedpoliceworldwide.com/catalog.htm and click on bridles. We have just added a line of draft horse size halter/bridles.
Our readers might like knowing where to find other draft horse sized equipment.

What a wonderful web site. We are long time drafters, but brand new to the internet. We make our living logging with our horses as well as farming in Southwest Washington State near Mt. St. Helens. We are currently looking for
breeding stock in the Ardennes breed. We have logged and farmed with many breeds, but currently have Ardennes, Shire's and Belgians. We are also looking for plow bolts for our old walking plows. Any information anyone can provide would be helpful.

I have a team of half brothers, Larry and Danny, Belgian Drafts. They are both 13 years old and have been together all their lives! They are a completely matched pair standing at 18 hands each and around 2,200 pounds.
They are the actual "Beautiful Belgians" used in the award winning print by Sheri Greves-Neilson whose work is often in the Draft Horse Journal as well as shows such as Grass Valley, CA.
They had been show horses until I got them 5 years ago. I have a plow, disk, cart and people mover oak wagon. The insurance company I had used for the last 5 years is no longer doing equine insurance. I need liability insurance.
Does anyone out there have any resources? I'd sure appreciate it! My team recently was used in a clinic in Turlock, CA in which Dr. A.J. Neumann from Iowa and Fred Polinder from Washington both taught for a week. It was great!! Also, for those of you who know
Darlene Rouch...this used to be her team!!! Please let me know if you have any insurance resources. Thanks, CC

i think you should add a little information on the canadian breed of draft horse. they are descended from percheron and were first bred in quebec. the canadian government is trying to have the canadian stated as our national horse.
Unfortunately, quebec is trying to stop this.
